Laid Back Chic: Plaid Jacket & New Balance Sneakers

Hey guys! So if you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I am currently recuperating from an abdominal surgery. I recently found out that I had a fibroid that needed to be removed and I had a myomectomy for that purpose. But all thanks to God, the procedure went perfectly fine and I am recovering perfectly well (even though my stomach looks liked a battle field lol)

But, I decided to look into my picture vault and found this look from a few months back. You might know that I'm not really one for sneakers but I do feel that a basic white sneaker should find its way into your closet if you don't already have one. It is definitely basic at its best.

Me being me, I decided to chic mine up by pairing it with another basic item that should find its way into your closet, a black midi dress. I can definitely see myself wearing just these two items during the warmer months but since it was chilly, I choose this midi plaid coat which I loove, and my super amazing TJ Maxx score, this blanket scarf which I got for two bucks! Can't beat that...anywhere.

What I'm Wearing:
Coat (sold out, similar here and here) ~ Dress (here, love this here and here) ~ Sneaker (here, I love this here) ~ Bag (sold out, similar here) ~ Scarf (similar here)

Casual Cozy: Oversized Coat & Ripped Skinnies

I usually don't do casual very well. Don't get me wrong, I'm quick to pull on a random jean and sweater and call it a day but I don't do that and look fashionable. Whenever I attempt to do that I end up looking lazy, like something the cat dragged in.

So since the casual chic look doesn't work for me, this is my idea of casual. A flimsy top, literally the perfect skinnies ever, and an oversized coat. Since the weather is so wicked here, I usually have an oversized scarf for warmth, and some comfy heels or I alternate with knee high boots. This has been my uniform this winter.

In case you haven't noticed, I love statement handbags. I'm definitely more into purses than shoes, although I love them both. But I am constantly searching for statement handbags that won't break the bank (at least my bank). One of my treats was this Henri Bendel piece that I absolutely delight in. I was worried about the color but it has turned out to be one of my most stain resistant handbags. I just can't get enough of it!

What I'm Wearing:
Coat (Thrifted similar herehere and here) ~ Top (on sale here, I love this here) ~ Jeans (here, love this here and here) ~ Bag (here I believe this is the most recent version of it, but I like mine better lol) ~ Heels (here different colors available)

Classic: Off Shoulder Stripes & Full Flared Skirt Fashion to Figure Lookbook 3

Full skirts are a huge weakness of mine. Whereas some people can wear jeans anywhere, I can wear a full skirt anywhere, and I do mean anywhere. My rationale behind that is that a full skirt is just like a good pair of jeans, can be dressed up to the nines and can just as well be dressed down.

This particular skirt from FTF is heavyweight so it flows quite beautifully and has quite a gorgeous shine to it. It also lacks that awkward, ugly, long waistline that clings to and emphasizes your stomach (as opposed to concealing it) that a lot of plus size full skirt designs have. It could very easily cost five times the amount and still be worth it, yes it is that beautiful. It also comes in two different colors, if I'm not mistaken.

I paired this with an off shoulder striped top, also from FTF for a classic, glam look.

What I'm Wearing:
Skirt c/o FTF (here, also comes in coral and blue) ~ Top c/o FTF (sold out but I love this here) ~ Shoes (here) ~ Clutch c/o FTF  (here) ~ Bracelets c/o FTF
